Rakul, Deepika’s manager Karishma appeared before the NCB in a drug case




Bollywood actress Rakul Preet Singh appeared before drug law enforcement agencies on Friday to question the Bureau of Narcotics Control (NCB) in its investigation into drugs related to the death of Mumbai actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Actress Deepika Padukone’s manager Karishma Prakash has also appeared before the agency to raise questions.

According to NCB officials, Rakul first reached the office and then Karisma.

Two days after the NCB summoned Deepika, Rakul, Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and others, the two reached the agency’s office.

On Thursday, the NCB recorded the statements of former Sushant’s manager Shruti Modi and fashion designer Simon Khambata.


NCB sources said that Bollywood star Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend Riya Chakraborty was summoned for questioning after her name was revealed during a WhatsApp chat at the agency.

The source said the celebrities would be asked how and from whom they bought the drugs and whether they were for personal use or for someone else.

The source further said that Deepika’s chat with Karisma was revealed during the investigation of the link between the Coan Talent Management Agency in the case. Karisma managed Deepika’s account in Kowane till 2013.


According to an NCB official, Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor were named in two drug cases filed by the agency.

The NCB is currently investigating two separate cases that revolve around drug cartels, the official said. The first case was registered by the Enforcement Director (ED) at the behest of top NCB officials after Riya and her brother sent brief notes on Shovik’s WhatsApp chat.

The NCB of FIR No. 15 claimed that the analysis of WhatsApp chats with Riya Chakraborty’s other agencies showed an angle of conspiracy in possession, sale, purchase, cost, transportation and use of substances under NDPS Act.

In the second case (FIR No. 116), the NCB has so far arrested 19 people, including Riya and Shovik.

The NCB also recorded the statements of Dhruv Chittagong, CEO of Kwani, Nimartha Madhu Montana Verma and Jaya Saha, talent manager of Sushant.
