More than 2.2 crore people have benefited from Ayushman Bharat scheme in the last three years: Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (Ayushman Bharat) has changed the health care system of the entire country.

He said that in the last three years, more than 2.2 crore people along with residents of remote areas were benefitted from this scheme. Presiding over the inaugural session of ‘Arogya Manthan 3.0’ organized on the occasion of the third anniversary of this scheme, Mandaviya said, ‘Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana has changed the health care system of the entire country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi started this scheme on 23 September 2018 from Ranchi. Mandaviya said, “The journey of the last three years of implementation of this scheme has been tremendous as it has empowered millions of citizens of India with their right to health.” He said that health and development are intertwined. During the program, the Union Minister also mentioned the efforts to provide better service in the health sector through digital technology and other steps. On this occasion, Mandaviya also interacted online with the beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat Scheme of Jammu and Kashmir, Chhattisgarh, Andaman and Nicobar, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Sikkim and Assam.
