Mulayam Singh Yadav Political Journey: Mulayam Singh Yadav was born on 22 November 1939. He turns 82 today. Mulayam Singh Yadav was elected MLA for the first time in 1967. During the Emergency, Mulayam Singh Yadav was in jail for 19 months. For the first time he was made a minister of state in 1977. In 1980, he became the president of the Lok Dal. After 1985, Mulayam formed a revolutionary front. Mulayam Singh Yadav became the CM of UP for the first time in 1989. In 1991, elections were held midway, but Mulayam Singh Yadav’s party did not form the government.

After this, in 1992, Mulayam Singh Yadav formed the Samajwadi Party. And in 1993, Mulayam returned to power once again with the support of the BSP. After this Mulayam Singh Yadav again returned to power in 2003 and became CM. Mulayam Singh Yadav was also the Defense Minister of the country from 1996 to 1998. In 2012, Mulayam Singh Yadav’s party returned to power, but this time Mulayam Singh Yadav made his son Akhilesh Yadav as CM and made some distance from active politics.
