Maharashtra: 14-year-old girl raped at Ulhasnagar railway station, accused arrested

The incident took place when the girl was on the skywalk of Ulhasnagar railway station while returning from Shirdi with her friends, when the accused took her to a secluded room in the nearby railway quarters and raped her there. According to the police, the victim has also suffered head injuries, possibly due to protests and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Ulhasnagar. An official of Kalyan Railway Police Station said that the girl was on her way back from Shirdi along with her friends on the skywalk in Ulhasnagar railway station area when the accused took the girl to a secluded room in the nearby railway quarters and allegedly But raped.

The victim and her relatives first went to the police stations in Ulhasnagar town where they were directed to approach the Railway Police, under whose jurisdiction the crime had taken place. Later, his family members lodged a complaint with the Kalyan Railway Police Station, the official said.

Later, the accused was traced and arrested and a case was registered against him under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, the police official said. According to the police, the victim has also suffered head injuries, possibly due to protests and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Ulhasnagar.
