Prof Rakesh Kapoor, Director, Medanta Hospital, Lucknow said, “Mahant has been put on oxygen support and is being treated by doctors from the Department of Urology and Critical Care Management. He was having trouble urinating and breathing, which indicates infection in vital organs. We will do more testing. Mahant, 83, had tested positive for coronavirus in September last year and was treated at Medanta Hospital for several months following blood clots in his lungs. He later returned to his monastery, Maniram Cantonment. He remained confined to his monastery and did not attend public functions or meet his disciples.
