Lucknow: Two Al-Qaeda-backed terrorists caught from Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, have been sent to 14-day police remand. Let us inform that the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of Uttar Pradesh Police on Sunday arrested two suspected terrorists linked to al-Qaeda-backed ‘Ansar Gajwatul Hind’ in the capital Lucknow. It is claimed that these people had plans to blast bombs in many cities including Lucknow on the upcoming Independence Day. On Monday, the ATS produced both the Al Qaeda terrorists in the court. Earlier, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar told a press conference here that the ATS has arrested Minhaj Ahmed, a resident of Dubagga, Lucknow, and Masiruddin, a resident of Madianv, associated with Al Qaeda-backed ‘Ansar Ghazwatul Hind’. A huge amount of explosive material and a pistol were recovered from Minhaj’s house. The IED recovered from his house is being deactivated.
