Channi alleged that the “murder” of the farmers was done deliberately. He said that he would meet Home Minister Amit Shah and take up the Lakhimpur Kheri incident before him. Channi said the Lakhimpur Kheri incident was “tragic” and demanded the withdrawal of the three controversial agricultural laws with immediate effect. The Punjab Chief Minister alleged, “The manner in which the SUV car was overturned and killed on the peaceful protesting farmers was done deliberately.” For this, he referred to the video clip in which such an incident is seen.

He said, ‘It is necessary to recognize the voice of the people. In a democracy, governments should work according to the wishes of the people. He said, ‘Today farmers are unhappy and they are dying. Considering this, these (agriculture) laws should be withdrawn immediately. He said that incidents like Lakhimpur Kheri should be stopped. The Chief Minister said, “(Narendra) Modi ji should stop the people of his BJP and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. This will not work in the country. The bloody clash took place on Sunday, in which eight people were killed and several others injured since the farmers’ protests against the Centre’s agricultural laws began last year. Four farmers were among those killed, who were allegedly rammed into vehicles by BJP workers on their way to an event to welcome Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya. Others were BJP workers and their driver, who were pulled out of the vehicle and beaten to death. Apart from this, two cars were set on fire.
