Jaipur. The seventh edition of the 20-day International Textile and Garment Fair ‘Textile 2020’ was launched on Wednesday. The chief guest at the virtual inaugural session was Parsadi Lal Meena, Minister for Industries and State Enterprises, Government of Rajasthan. The textile fair is being jointly organized by Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation Limited (RICO) and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICC). This mega event will be held till 27th September and will be live on 7th October on the portal. The fair is being organized in collaboration with the Garment Exporters Association of Rajasthan (GER).
More than 249 buyers from 2 countries across Africa, Europe, America and other regions have registered for the Virtual Expo. Also, more than 2 buying6 Indians have registered buying houses and agents. Similarly, more than 60 exhibitions in the field of Garments, Home Furnishing, Home Textiles and Fabric are taking part.
In his inaugural address, the Industries Minister said that Rajasthan is one of the few states to conduct regular trade fairs. In the present case, when travel and social interaction are limited, the virtual version of ‘Clothing’ will provide a suitable platform for the textile and garment industry to engage with the buyers of the country and develop them in the progress of their business.
