New Delhi: With the aim of increasing military cooperation with Israel, Indian Army Chief General MM Naravane will go on his first visit to Israel on Monday. According to a statement issued by the Indian Army, during the five-day visit from Monday to Friday, General Naravane will meet senior Israeli military and civilian leadership. The Army Chief will take forward the excellent bilateral defense cooperation between Israel and India through a series of meetings with senior officials of the security establishment and exchange views on various defense-related issues. In the last two months, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Defense Secretary Ajay Kumar have visited Israel separately to strengthen defense cooperation. During the visit of Defense Secretary, both the countries decided to set up a task force to prepare a comprehensive 10-year roadmap to identify new areas of defense cooperation. The decision came during the 15th meeting of the India-Israel Joint Working Group (JWG) on Bilateral Defense Cooperation held in Tel Aviv, Israel. The meeting was co-chaired by Kumar and Director General of Defense Ministry of Israel Major General (Retd) Amir Eshel.
