In the last 24 hours, 88,600 new cases have been reported, bringing the total number of infected people to 59,92,533. At the same time, 1,124 patients died, bringing the death toll from the infection to 94,503. The number of active cases in the country stood at 15.9 per cent and the death rate at 1.56 per cent and the removal rate at 72.46 per cent.
Maharashtra, the worst-hit state by the Corona epidemic, saw 35 cases reduced to 2,699,555 in the last 24 hours, while the death toll rose to 35,191 with 440 deaths. During this period, 23,644 people became infection-free, bringing the number of healthy people to 10,16,450.
The number of patients in the southern state of Karnataka has increased by 3,308 in the last 24 hours and the state now has 1,01,801 active diseases. The death toll in the state has risen to 8,503 and 4,555,1919 people have been rescued so far.
In Andhra Pradesh, the number of active cases has come down to 655, to 94, with 1.69 fewer patients. So far 5,6633 people have died in the state. A total of 5,97,294 people have been infected.
