More than 92 crore vaccines have been administered in India. Despite this, there are still many people who are hesitant to apply the Kovid-19 vaccine despite being eligible. In this regard, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) of Gujarat has taken a unique initiative. Despite being eligible, the corporation has imposed many restrictions on people who do not vaccinate. Such people will now either come forward to apply the vaccine as soon as possible or else they will have to stay at their home. In fact, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation on Wednesday asked the owners and management of all private establishments in the city, including large residential societies and commercial complexes, to restrict the entry of those who have not got the Kovid-19 vaccine despite being eligible. The AMC had only last month announced that people wishing to visit public services, municipal-run facilities, such as city buses, BRTS (Bus Rapid Transit System), swimming pools, libraries, sports complexes and various civic bodies, would be given their vaccinations. Certificate must be shown. Now the same rule will be applicable for entering private premises as well.
According to the AMC circular, people above the age of 18 years, who have not received the first dose of vaccine and those who have not received the second dose despite being eligible, are allowed to visit hotels, restaurants, religious places, tourist places, theatres, clubs. Do not be allowed to enter private establishments like commercial premises, party venues and large residential societies.
According to the health department of the AMC, the Kovid-19 vaccination campaign has got a big boost in the city last month with the civic body making it mandatory for citizens to show vaccination certificates to use public facilities.
According to the press release of the AMC, so far 66.84 lakh (97 percent) citizens of the city have taken the first dose of Kovid-19 vaccine, while 44.97 lakh (49 percent) people have taken the second dose. (Input – PTI)
