The Road Ministry has said that it has given a cash prize of Rs 5000 to the helpers who take road accident victims to the hospital within an hour of serious injury.

The Road Ministry said that it has started a special scheme for helpers to take road accident victims to the hospital within an hour of serious injury. The ministry said on Monday that a cash prize of Rs 5000 will be given to the person who takes the injured in a road accident to the hospital. In a letter to the Principal Secretaries and Transport Secretaries of all the states and union territories, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said that this scheme will be effective from 15 October 2021 to 31 March 2026. The ministry said that the objective of this scheme is to motivate the general public to help road accident victims in emergency. A certificate will also be given along with the cash prize. The ministry said that apart from this award, 10 most noble helpers at the national level will be given an award of Rs one lakh each. (Input – PTI)
