Gangajal for corona treatment Neurologists Dr VN Mishra and Dr Abhishek Pathak of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) have claimed that Ganga water can prove to be effective in the treatment of Kovid-19. The word “bacteriophage” means “destroyer of bacteria”. The bacteriophages found in the river Ganga destroy the bacteria and microbes, thereby maintaining the purity of the water of the river Ganga. Regarding the presence of bacteriophage in the Ganges river, experts said that about 1300 types of bacteriophages have been confirmed in the Ganges water, which is more than any other river. Senior advocate of Allahabad High Court Arun Kumar Gupta, who was present in the press conference, said that the National Mission for Clean Ganga of Water Resources Department under the Ministry of Jal Shakti has directed to conduct a clinical study regarding the use of Ganga water in the treatment. He said that he has also filed a public interest litigation in the Allahabad High Court regarding the treatment of Kovid-19 with Ganga water, on which notice has been issued to the Health Department of the Central Government.
