Hathras . In Uttar Pradesh, a 19-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly gang-raped by four upper castes. The accused also tried to suffocate the victim. The victim has been admitted to the ICU of Aligarh Medical College. However, in the days following the incident, the victim police recorded a statement to him and said that on September 14, when he went to collect fodder for the animal, four upper caste men raped him.
Earlier, on the basis of the victim’s brother’s allegations, the police had filed a case under the provisions of the SC / ST Act against the accused accused of attempted murder and the accused named Sandeep. The accused has been arrested and sent to judicial custody. According to the victim’s family, the accused tried to kill the girl due to old enmity.
Allegations of rape were added to the FIR after the girl’s statement on Tuesday and three more were charged. “One more accused has been arrested and others will be arrested soon,” said Hathras SP Vikrant Vir.
Additional SP Prakash Kumar said the girl’s statement under Section 1 161 of the CRPC was not recorded by the investigator earlier as she was in the ICU after referring the girl from Hatra District Hospital to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in Aligarh. He said the chargesheet would be filed soon.
Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee vice-president Deepak Kumar met the victim and alleged that the police also threatened the accused as well as the family.
He said he would give a detailed report on the matter to party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi and party state chief Ajay Kumar Lallu.
Congress leader Shairaj Jeevan Valmiki, who came to visit the victim’s family members in Hatras on Wednesday, demanded action against the police officers for delay in recording the police statement, saying that injustice was not tolerated against members of the Dalit community. Yes.
