Chief Minister Shivraj Chauhan was addressing a land worship and benefit conference of Kathan Main Irrigation Project at Lidhaura village in Badmalhara tehsil of Chhatrapur district. He explained why water would be supplied to every land in Chhatrapur district after the approval of the Betwa Link project.

On this occasion, he worshiped the land and inaugurated the development at a cost of Tk 544 crore. This includes land worship of a Rs 394 crore wood irrigation project. The project will irrigate 15,000 hectares of land in 74 villages. Beneficiaries of various projects have benefited on this occasion. These include distribution of forest rights patches, Ladli Lakshmi Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Matrubandan Yojana, beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana.

On the occasion, former Union Minister Mrs. Uma Bharati, Public Works Minister Gopal Varghese, MP V.D. Sharma, President of Civil Supplies Corporation Pradyuman Singh Lodhi, MLAs and people’s representatives were present.

The Chief Minister said that the development works which were stalled in the area would be resumed. The youth of Bundelkhand will be given 5 percent employment in local industries and diamond mining in the district. He said the work of medical college will be started in Chhatrapur. The poor will benefit under the Sambal Yojana. There will be justice with the farmers now.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh said that on September 16, crop insurance of Rs 4,600 crore would be added to the accounts of 4,000 farmers, and on September 1, 3 lakh people in Madhya Pradesh would start getting wheat at Rs 1 per kg. He said that with the blessings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 6,7373 in Chhatrapur district. Poor people will start getting rations at low cost. Water will be available from each village drain under the Water-Life Mission.

The Chief Minister said that a stadium would be constructed at Lidhaura, a high school would be upgraded, a college would be started from the next session at Ghowara, Vimkund would be a tourist center and a 100-bed hospital would be upgraded at Badmalhara.

At the event, former Union Minister Mrs. Uma Bharati praised Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and said that he has seriousness, maturity, tolerance and decency.
