Let us inform that earlier on Wednesday morning a 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck Assam, whose tremors were felt in neighboring Meghalaya and northern parts of West Bengal as well as up to Bangladesh. The earthquake occurred at 8:45 am with its epicenter at Goalpara in Lower Assam at a depth of 14 km. The quake hit 71 km north of Tura in Meghalaya and tremors were felt in the state as well, said Sanjay Onil Shaw, deputy director of the Regional Meteorological Center (RMC).
