Champaran Zone Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Pranav Kumar Praveen said that so far 13 people have died under suspicious circumstances. In the Mohammadpur police station area of ​​Gopalganj, 11 people have died due to drinking spurious liquor on Tuesday night, while many people are still said to be ill. According to the police, more than two dozen people had consumed spurious liquor on Tuesday evening in Kushahar village of Mohammadpur police station in Gopalganj district. After drinking country liquor, the condition started deteriorating. All the sick were admitted to other hospitals including Sadar Hospital for treatment.

It is noteworthy that four people died on Wednesday, while on Thursday this figure had increased to 10. By the way, according to unconfirmed reports, the death toll in Gopalganj is being told more than 15, while the death toll in Bettiah is above 17. Last week, half a dozen people died in Muzaffarpur district after consuming spurious liquor. There is a complete ban on the sale and consumption of any kind of liquor in Bihar.
