Central Vista Project: By 2022 construction work of Prime Minister’s house will be completed

The construction of the Prime Minister’s house under the Central Vista project will be completed by December 2022.

New Delhi: The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) told an expert committee set up by the government that the construction of the Prime Minister’s house under the ambitious Central Vista project will be completed by December 2022. The CPWD, which is developing the project, informed the Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC) that the expansion of the Parliament building and the construction of the new Parliament building would be completed by November 2022 and the construction of the Prime Minister’s House would be completed by 2022. The environment ministry has already approved the expansion and renovation of the existing Parliament building, which is part of the 13450-crore Central Vista Redevelopment Project.

In a meeting held last month, the EAC recommended environment clearance for the redevelopment of the Common Central Secretariat building and the Prime Minister’s House. According to CPWD, the construction of the Common Central Secretariat building will be done by May 2023.
