Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, in a conversation with a Hindi news TV channel, also claimed that the graph of Aam Aadmi Party is increasing in Punjab, but the popularity of Congress has decreased by 20 percent. Responding to a question, the former Chief Minister said, “In the last survey, Aam Aadmi Party is going ahead, Congress is going down. The popularity of the Congress has declined by 20 percent. People don’t have faith in Navjot Singh Sidhu.”

Regarding meeting Doval, he said, “I have met him regarding security concerns. I may not be the chief minister, but Punjab is ours… That was the purpose of meeting the NSA, should the situation not arise as before.”

On meeting Home Minister Amit Shah, Singh said, one year has been completed for the farmers’ movement. There must be some solution. I am afraid that this may create problems in Punjab, I do not want this. According to him, “I have told the Home Minister that Rs 25 thousand crore should be given to Punjab for fulfilling the demand of farmers and for crop diversification.”

Taking a dig at Sidhu once again, Singh said that he is not a serious person and cannot work with everyone together. Praising Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, he said, “He is a very educated person. He did a good job with me as a minister. It is important that Sidhu let them work. Sidhu wants to dominate.”
