Bihar Panchayat Election 2021: Voting for the seventh phase of Panchayat elections in Bihar has started from 7 am today, which will continue till 5 pm. In this phase, today people are voting for the village government in 903 panchayats in 63 blocks of 37 districts. In the seventh phase, votes will be cast at 12,786 polling stations for half a dozen posts of Zilla Parishad member, Mukhiya, Panchayat Samiti member, Ward member, Sarpanch and Panch. During voting in 10 panchayats of Jamalpur block of Munger, voting is disrupted at booth number 34 of West Inderrukh Panchayat due to a glitch in the biometric system. Voting is disrupted due to EVM malfunction at a booth in Koroyavan Panchayat of Patna.

Voting started 25 minutes late due to technical glitch in EVMs at booth 73 of Sabar Middle School in Rampur block of Kaimur.

-The pace of voting is showing slow at Safiganj booth number 52 and 53 of Warisliganj block of Nawada.

Voting has not started at booth number 3 of Lakhisarai’s Rampur Panchayat due to malfunctioning of EVMs. EVMs are also bad at booth number 55 in the middle school Khemtarni place of Mohmadpur Panchayat.

Voting has started at polling stations from 7 am. There are long queues of voters outside the centres.

-The preparations going on for voting in many booths since morning are in the final stage, voting will start there in some time.

For the seventh phase, 3389 posts have been elected unopposed.

Uncontested elections have been held for 134 posts of ward members, five of panchayat samiti members, 3249 of panchs, and one post of sarpanch. 217 posts are left vacant due to non-filling of forms by any candidate.

In the seventh phase, 1,05,658 candidates are in the fray for a total of 27,730 posts in 903 panchayats. Today 72,85,589 voters will exercise their franchise.

Tight security arrangements have been made outside the booths for voting.
