Taking major action, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and Custom Department have recovered gold worth crores from Gaighat police station area of ​​Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. A DRI team intercepted a car passing through National Highway No-28 near a toll plaza in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar and arrested three people with illegal gold biscuits worth about Rs 2.86 crore. Car riders were bringing this consignment of gold biscuits from Guwahati in Assam. According to information received from the Muzaffarpur unit of DRI on Monday, this consignment of gold biscuits, seized on Sunday morning on the basis of secret information, was kept hidden in a secret basement made under the battery of the car. In this action, the department has arrested 3 smugglers with 35 gold biscuits. A DRI official said on Monday that based on a tip-off, the team of DII and Customs recovered 35 gold biscuits from a car in Muzaffarpur. The value of the recovered gold is estimated to be around Rs 3 crore. DRI sources said that the total weight of these 35 gold biscuits seized is 5.815 kg, which is estimated to be worth around Rs 2.86 crore. Three smugglers have been arrested in this case, in which two are said to be residents of Uttar Pradesh and one from Delhi. In this case, further action is being taken by confiscating the luxury car. The confiscated car has a sticker of the press to dodge the police.

According to sources, this gold was being sent from Guwahati to Myanmar. The smugglers had hidden the gold in a box made with different technology in the engine of the car. On receiving the information, the car of the smugglers was stopped near the Gaighat Maithi toll plaza and the gold was recovered. Various numbers are also marked on all the biscuits. Officials say that the smugglers have given information about many other smugglers during interrogation, on the basis of which raids are being conducted. During interrogation, the smugglers have told that the gold biscuits were taken from Guwahati. It is being told that the arrested smugglers were engaged in this black business for a long time.
