Giving information on Monday, his lawyer Mihir Desai had said that the condition of tribal rights activist Stan Swamy, accused in the Elgar Parishad-Maoist connection case, remains critical. The senior counsel said that till Sunday night, the 84-year-old Jesuit (member of the Royal Catholic Society) priest was on life support. However, he died on Monday. After the court’s May 28 order, Swamy was undergoing treatment at the Holy Family Hospital here. His colleagues and friends were bearing the cost of his treatment in a private hospital.
