Bharat Bandh Today : More than 40 farmer organizations of the country have announced a Bharat Bandh from 6 am to 4 pm today in protest against the three new agricultural laws made by the central government. An appeal has been made on behalf of the farmers to keep all government and private offices, institutions, markets, shops and industries closed today. Many big political parties of the opposition have supported this Bharat Bandh called under the leadership of United Kisan Morcha. Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait said – Ambulance, doctors or people going in emergency can pass, we have not sealed anything, we just want to send a message. We appeal to the shopkeepers to keep their shops closed now and open only after 4 pm. No farmer is coming here from outside.
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) tweeted, “The entry/exit of Pandit Shri Ram Sharma has been closed.”
In Patna, RJD workers blocked Gandhi Setu and also set fire to it. RJD has also supported the farmers’ Bharat bandh.
The Delhi-Amritsar National Highway was blocked in Shahabad, Kurukshetra, Haryana, in protest against farmers, agitating against agricultural laws.
A farmer says, “We have closed the Shambhu border (Punjab-Haryana border) till 4 pm in view of the farmers’ protest call for Bharat Bandh.”
Delhi Traffic Police tweeted- Traffic has been stopped from Uttar Pradesh towards Ghazipur in view of farmers’ Bharat Bandh.
Agriculture Minister is Rattu, the agitation will continue for 10 years
Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait said that Rattu is the Agriculture Minister. They only speak what they are told. Tikait said that if the government reforms the law in ten years, then this movement will continue for 10 years. We will not go back.
Let us inform that Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Tomar has said that the central government is ready to discuss any issue raised by the farmers. Tomar has appealed to find a way out for talks.
