Speaking to ANI, Mamata Banerjee said, “Anyone can resign. He (Lakshmi Ratan Shukla) wrote in his resignation that he wants to give more time to the game. He will be associated with the party as a MLA. Don’t take it negatively.

It is learned that Lakshmi Ratan Shukla was the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs in the Government of Bengal. Apart from the post of minister, he has also resigned from the post of TMC district president of Howrah. After his resignation, it was said that Ratan Shukla wanted to step down from politics, which is why he resigned. After which he got the post of Sports and Youth Affairs Minister of Mamata government.

Please say that Lakshmi Ratan Shukla has played three ODIs for India. He has also played for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Delhi Daredevils and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL. Assembly elections are scheduled for May in West Bengal, though the date has not yet been announced.
