Amit Khare appointed as advisor to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, contract for two years

Former Information and Broadcasting and Higher Education Secretary Amit Khare has been appointed as Advisor to the Prime Minister on a contractual basis for two years.

“The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Amit Khare, IAS (Retd) (JH:1985) as Advisor to the Prime Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office. The post and pay scale of Secretary to the Government of India, on contract basis, as per other normal terms and conditions in the case of re-appointed officers of the level of Secretary to the Government of India, whichever is earlier, initially for a period of two years till further orders It is stated in an order. He joined the Prime Minister’s Office after former cabinet secretary PK Sinha and former secretary Amarjit Sinha left the PMO as advisors this year. Amit Khare is a 1985 batch IAS officer and has served in various positions in the government, discharging important roles, including Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Human Resource Development and Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Jharkhand.
