According to him, the way the public health system failed to address the rate of acute diseases and infectious diseases in the world before Corona, which led to a steady increase in the number of people dying due to the spread of the epidemic. Richard Horton, editor-in-chief of the Lancet, said the coronavirus combined with the four diseases had become more dangerous and would further increase the burden of disease in the world.

The Global Burden of Disease Study is the most comprehensive research of its kind. In it, a team of 5,500 international scientists with the World Health Organization investigated the causes of death in 204 countries. For this, they analyzed 286 causes of death, 369 diseases and injuries and 87 risk factors.

More deaths from heart disease in the elderly

The international research team found that many deaths among young people due to back pain are happening at the same time, while heart disease continues to be the leading cause of death among the elderly.

Over 50 years old

Ischemic heart disease, heart stroke and diabetes are the leading causes of death among people in this age group. In ischemic disease, the blood-carrying cells in the heart contract, causing the person to die.
