New Delhi: It has been a century since the birth of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, one of the greatest war heroes of India. On Saturday, on the occasion of his birth anniversary, Ronnie Screwvala and film producer Meghna Gulzar from RSVP have announced the title of their most awaited film ‘Sam Bahadur’ (Sam Bahadur). Based on the life and times of Bahadur Manekshaw, ‘Sam Bahadur’ will feature talented actor Vicky Kaushal in the film. Vicky Kaushal has already caught everyone’s attention with his look release.
Manekshaw fought for the country in five wars
Sam Manekshaw’s military career includes four decades and five wars. He was the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of Field Marshal and his military victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak War led to the creation of Bangladesh.

Vicky Kaushal, playing the title role, shared, ‘I have always heard stories about Sam Bahadur from my parents hailing from Punjab and he has seen the 1971 war but my senses were blown away when I read the script . He is a hero and a patriot who is still remembered and loved today and capturing his spirit in the film is of paramount importance to me. ‘
