After Karigil, when Dilip Kumar told Nawaz Sharif on the phone, “You didn’t expect this”

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa state government of Pakistan has approved funds to buy the ancestral homes of Bollywood superstars Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar. The government has decided to buy houses for two Bollywood stars to build a museum. Both houses will be developed as museums in their own names and will be told about them. Both the stars were born in Peshawar before the partition of India, but later both moved to Mumbai from Pakistan. Dilip Kumar has always been popular in Pakistan.

The recent popularity of Dilip Kumar, who recently celebrated his 98th birthday in Pakistan, also suggests that he has been a ‘bridge of dialogue’ between the two countries several times. Not only that, the country’s former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee once asked him to talk to Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Former Pakistani Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri published it in his book ‘Either a Haq or a Poem’.

According to Kasuri, Atal Bihari Vajpayee urged Dilip Kumar to talk to Nawaz Sharif to control the situation during the Kargil war. Kasuri was quoted by Nawaz Sharif’s chief secretary Saeed Saeed Mehdi as saying, “One day when Saeed was sitting next to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the phone rang and the ADC informed him that Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee wanted to speak to you immediately.”

Not only Dilip and Raj Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan also has connections with Pakistan, find out how the family came to Mumbai

Kasuri claims in his book that before the end of the conversation, Vajpayee said that he wanted to talk to the person sitting next to him. Nawaz Sharif was surprised to hear Dilip Kumar’s voice. Dilip Kumar told Nawaz Sharif, “Mr. Mia, we did not expect this from you as you have always described yourself as the greatest supporter of peace between India and Pakistan.”
