Expressing strong displeasure over the actions of the fans, he has been termed as senseless. In a video going viral on social media, some people, purportedly believed to be fans of Rajinikanth, are shown killing a goat and sprinkling its blood on the poster of the film. In Tamil Nadu, it is common for fans of a veteran actor like Rajinikanth to pour milk on the cutout of their favorite actor, known as ‘Palabhishekam’. This is done in temples for the Lord. Referring to the viral video, Sudhakar said in a statement that it is not only regrettable but also highly condemnable. He said, “We request that no one should indulge in such heinous acts.” Directed by Siva, ‘Annathe’ is slated to release on November 4, on the occasion of Diwali.
