Chandigarh Two policemen who went out on patrol were murdered in Sonipat district of Haryana on Tuesday. A few hours later, a police team that went to Jind district in search of the accused was attacked, in which four policemen were injured. Earlier, Haryana Director General of Police Manoj Yadav said that eight teams have been formed to solve the murder.
Police said the bodies of both were found on Gohana-Jind Road near Butana in the district. According to officials, on Rohtak Road in Jind district, four-five accused attacked the police team when they arrived to apprehend them. Two police inspectors have also been told among the injured policemen. Superintendent of Police of Jind said that the accused involved in killing two policemen attacked the police team, in which four soldiers were injured. He has been referred to the hospital.
Sources in Sonipat police said that an attacker has been caught by the team. Earlier, officials said that Special Police Officer (SPO) Captain Singh and Constable Ravinder were murdered by some unknown person in the early hours. They told that both went out on patrol. He told that the police team who reached the spot after getting information, found the bodies of both of them soaked in blood.
A police officer from Sonepat said that some bottles of soda and water have been found from the spot. He told that it is possible that some people were roaming outside during the curfew and the policemen had questioned them, and they had attacked both. Under the guidelines of Kovid-19 lockdown, the night curfew has been in force in Haryana for the past several weeks.
Yadav, answering questions from media persons at the Haryana Police Academy in Madhuban, Karnal, said, “Eight police teams have been formed to solve the murder, the attackers will be caught soon.”
He said, “Some anti-social elements have committed this crime. According to the investigation so far, the ADGP of Sonepat and Rohtak range have told me that, investigation is going on whether there was any conspiracy. Is any gang behind this? The investigation is going on, at the moment I would not say anything other than that the matter is being investigated from all aspects.
Yadav said, “I am sure that our police will solve this massacre quickly without any witnesses”. When asked if the policemen were also shot, DGP said, “Looking at the injury marks It seems that they are knife marks, but we are not denying the bullet marks, but for that we have to wait for the postmortem report. ”
The DGP assured strict action against the culprits. Describing the incident as unfortunate, the DGP said that during the time of Kovid-19 pandemic, the entire police force is working tirelessly to save humanity. He said that all possible help will be provided to the families of both.
