Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) today filed an application in the Hon’ble Punjab and Haryana High Court through its subsidiary Geo Infocomm. The agency demanded immediate intervention to stop the illegal incidents of vandalism by miscreants. The petition said that the sabotage and violent actions taken by the miscreants endangered the lives of thousands of employees of the company as well as the critical communication infrastructure, sales and service outlets operated by the subsidiaries in both the states. There is a problem
The company said that Reliance Industries Limited, Reliance Retail Limited (RRL), Reliance Geo Infocomm Limited (RJIL) and any other company affiliated with Reliance will not conduct, plan or conduct business in the future.
Organized in India, Reliance Retail sells products in all categories, including retail, food, cereals, fruits, vegetables and consumer goods, clothing, pharmaceuticals, manufacturers and suppliers of various brands of electronic products. It does not purchase food grains directly from farmers. The companies did not sign long-term purchase agreements to take unfair advantage of the farmers.
Reliance measures against miscreants so far have reduced the incidence of sabotage in recent times. However, the company has sought punitive and preventive measures against rogue and selfish elements through its application to the Hon’ble High Court so that Reliance can once again conduct all its business in Punjab and Haryana.
