Gold price today, 5 July 2021: Gold and silver prices are seeing a jump today due to strong signals from the international market. Along with this, buying is also being seen at lower levels.
Gold price today, 5 July 2021: On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), both gold and silver prices rose again on Monday after seeing a rise on Friday. With a marginal jump of Rs 40 or 0.08 per cent, gold August futures traded at Rs 47,349 per 10 grams. Meanwhile, silver September silver futures is also trading on the green side and is up by Rs 262 or 0.37 per cent at Rs 70,445 per kg on MCX. On Friday, a slight jump was recorded in the market in both the precious metals. While gold rose by Rs 161 or 0.34 per cent to Rs 47,139 per 10 grams, silver was trading at Rs 69,224 per kg. Last week, gold was being sold at a premium for the first time in more than two months in India. Gold demand picked up after restrictions were eased slightly to deal with the second wave of coronavirus.
Gold and silver prices in the international market
According to Reuters, after reaching a two-week high in the previous session, gold prices declined marginally in the dollar on Monday. The dollar rose 0.1 per cent against its rivals, making gold costlier for holders of other currencies.
Spot gold was down 0.1 per cent at $1,785.41 an ounce by 0037 GMT after hitting a high of $1,794.86 on Friday, June 18. Meanwhile, US gold futures rose 0.1 per cent to $1,785.20. Apart from this, the price of silver fell by 0.2 percent to $ 26.40 an ounce.
