Bihar: Deputy CM Renu Devi said – no relation with brother accused of grabbing land, no one in the country can point fingers at me
Renu Devi said that her name is being dragged into controversy unnecessarily as she is no longer related to her brother.
Patna: A day after Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav accused Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Renu Devi’s brother of forcibly occupying a plot of land in a posh area of Patna, she (Renu Devi) said that her name was unnecessarily disputed. I am being dragged because he has no relation with his brother anymore. Renu Devi said that I have been leading public life for the last 42 years. No one can point a finger at me. Renu Devi is one of the two deputy chief ministers of the state. She also alleged that she is being targeted as she is a woman and comes from an extremely backward class (EBC). Two residents of Patel Nagar area of the city have accused his brother Ravi Prasad of grabbing the land and claimed that they have written to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the Chief Secretary and the DGP seeking their intervention in the matter. Renu Devi said in the press conference, “I have already made it clear that I have no relation with Ravi anymore. I don’t talk to him. Why is my name being dragged into controversy.” The BJP leader said opposition parties in the state were making it an issue unnecessarily and she would initiate legal action against those who were dragging her name into the controversy.
Regarding the alleged land-grabbing incident, he said, “Law will take its own course.” Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav tweeted, “Deputy Chief Minister’s brothers are grabbing expensive land in broad daylight in Patna by force of arms. Huh. When the landowners protested, they threatened to take them to the Deputy Chief Minister’s residence.
He had said on Twitter on Friday, “Guardians of Jungle Raj should speak on BJP’s goondagardi.” The owners of the land, Brahmanand Singh and Shravan Kumar, claimed that the incident took place last month. Brahmanand Singh alleged on Friday, “Ravi Prasad alias Pinnu along with his associates grabbed my plot in Patel Nagar on June 21. They have also started building a wall on the plot. When we objected to his coercive act, Prasad threatened me with dire consequences and asked his colleagues to take me and Shravan to Deputy Chief Minister Renu Devi’s official residence in Patna,” he said.
