MG Motor is to launch its first electric SUV ZS EV in the country on 27th January. The car’s advance booking company had already started. But now on January 17, the company is going to stop its booking. In such a situation, if you are planning to buy this EV of MG, then you have a few hours left to book it.

Also, let us tell you that the customers who have already booked it and who are going to get it, MG ZS EV will be available at a special price which will be revealed at the time of launch.

According to, with its launch, the MG ZS EV will become the second such electric SUV in the country that is capable of traveling more than 300 km on full charge. In the initial phase it will be available for sale only in five cities: Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Bengaluru.

The ZS EV will come with two variants called ‘Excite’ and ‘Exclusive’. It will get a 44.5 kW-hour battery pack that will be connected to a single electric motor for power transmission. The motor is capable of generating a maximum power of 143 PS and torque of 350 Nm.


This upcoming EV of MG can be charged up to 80% in just 50 minutes with the help of fast charger. The company claims that this car will be able to travel up to 340 km on a single charge. With this, an 7.4 kW Alternative Current (AC) wallbox charger will be available, which will charge the car 0 to 100% in 6 to 8 hours. Apart from this, the company will also provide a small portable charger with this vehicle which can be fitted in any socket with regular 14 amperes.

Talking about the features, it has an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Hector-like iSmart connected car technology (e-SIM, geo fencing, inbuilt internet connectivity, mobile remote control etc.), automatic climate control, in-built 2.5 p.m. Many other premium features including air filters, tire pressure monitoring system, panoramic sunroof will also be available.

According to us the price of MG ZS EV will be kept between 23 to 25 lakh rupees (ex-showroom). In the Indian market, it will compete with Hyundai Kona Electric and the upcoming Nissan Leaf.
